It's time to answer another frequently asked question.  Today's question is...

What needs to be prepared for the performer when he arrives?

For the most part, we come self contained.

If you are having a show, make sure there is enough room for the audience to sit comfortably and enjoy the show.  For a small show, the magician does not require a lot of room, just enough to comfortably move and place his trunk.  If it is outside, you may want to put blankets down in a shady area. If you are booking a larger show, space requirements will be discussed at the time you book your show.  A face painter may require a corner of a table and two chairs.

Some items do require electric - fun foods, spin art, air brush tattoos - we provide a 25 foot extension cord.

The rides do require a bit more on your part when it comes to layout of the party.  Please realize the rides are very heavy, we can not pick them up and carry them.  Vehicle access to the area is prefered. The rides also need to be within 50 feet of an electrical outlet - we supply appropriate extension cords for the operation of the ride as required by law, and we can not add on extension cords.  Each ride has a different foot print, that will be discussed when you schedule a ride for your event.

If you are having a dunk tank, there are a few things to consider.  It needs to be placed within reach of your hose, it takes roughly an hour to fill up the dunk tank.  Also, when your event is over it needs to be emptied and all that water needs to go some where.  The drain is on the left rear side of the tank and should be set up so it doesn't drain towards any buildings or delicate vegitation.

We try to make our appearance at your party and easy as possible on you, after all, you have your guests to enjoy.  We try our hardest to come fully prepared with everything we need, and we leave your event space the way we found it.  If you are ever unsure about anything, all you have to do is call and ask.  We are happy to answer any questions you may have.

The hardest part of writing for me is trying to figure out what I am going to write about about.  If someone would just tell me "Write about this.", I would be fine.  So the first thing I am putting out there is...what do you want to hear about?

For right now I will tackle a frequently asked question once a week.  So this week's question is...

How far in advance do I need to book?

The simple answer to that is, as soon as you know about your party, it is best to book your entertainment.

It does get more complex than that.  If you are looking to book your party during a specific season, such as Christmas, Easter, or communion, realize that there are MANY people looking to book entertainment during those times as well.  Those times of year fill up quickly.  Consider having the party on a different day.  It will be easier to have the details come together.

Also it seems that is one day a month that everyone wants to have their party, and one day a month that no one wants.  Don't set your party in stone, and then call for entertainment.  Make sure all your ducks are in a row and then send out your invites.

However, it never hurts to call and see if there was a cancellation (I had the chicken pox on the day I was supposed to receive my communion!), or that maybe there is time between events.  It just might happen!
